Sweeping

A young man hired by a supermarket reported for his first day of work.

The manager greeted him with a warm handshake and a smile, gave him a broom, and said, "Your first job will be to sweep the store."

"But I'm a college graduate," the young man replied indignantly.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know that," said the manager. "Here, give me the broom -- I'll show you how."

I sent that one to my buddy he just graduated and is having trouble finding a job.

Oh, how TRUE that is! I used to work in a trade that often had college educated people coming in thinking they knew everything; fortunately it made them easier to play practical jokes on...

actually the manager would have said "You are a college grad? You are over qualified, therefore your fired"
