I'm sorry if i'm breaking any unwritten laws of IW, but i've been away for a few days and its looks like i've missed something. What happened to Purre? I liked her and she certainly didn't seem to be the sought to earn a "banned" avatar. Anyone?

You realy should ask a mod about this, but to make it a short story, she broke almost every TOS rule in a little under an hour, all on purpose in a effort to disrupt the board. For the whys and hows you will need to e mail a mod.

Trust me, Sever, it was a very terrible offense she committed. I, fortunately, seemed to miss most of it, but I caught the tail end.

That's sad news indeed. Maybe i'm clutching at straws here but from what i gather from THoJ, is it possible that someone besides her was responsible for writing whatever it was that got her banned. I speak from experience as i've had a so-called friend write several offensive posts whilst i was out of the room for no more than five minutes. Fortunately for me i caught him in the act and was able to track down and delete the posts before they were reported. I'm not trying to be a bush lawyer here but did it sound like Purre talking?

It was purre Sever - quoting people then cutting about their posts and inserting profanity instead of what they had said. She had already made her decision to leave IW, but just couldn't do it quietly.

Altering people's posts when quoting them and adding vulgar and obscene words for starters. Bringing personal arguments to completely unrelated threads, harrassing other members for personal reasons in multiple threads. That begins to cover the basics.

Sever, and everyone else, this sort of inquiry DOES belong in pm or email to the webmaster. Let's not post things like this in future. If your curiosity gets the better of you, ask Z in email.

I spent a lot of time running around trying to clean that mess up and as a volunteer here, I gotta tell you it wasn't my idea of a nice way to spend time. In fact I gave up a romantic evening with my fiance to deal with it.

Unfortunately, the consequences of posting that kind of thing are pretty obvious and I'm very sorry she felt she needed to do that, but it's the way it turned out. Now let's move on.
