Do your mice have trouble with dirty balls? Mine do. I've got two computers here, two mice and a pair of dirty balls. Nothing worse than dirty balls, (so I'm told) and if your mouse is running around with a grubby nut it causes all sorts of problems. I don't know if I press down too hard on him but seems no matter what mouse or mice I have, they top up with dirty balls....happens every time. I suppose if mice get grit and fluff in their balls, well it's enough to upset any mouse. I know my mice do funny things when their balls are playing up. Sort of judder and refuse to move until a certain level of mouse ball cleanliness is observed. I really don't like cleaning mouse balls. Holding them on their little back while you carry out the delicate ball removal operation. I mean what do you clean em with? Should you give em a really good scrubbing or should it be more a gentle carress. Soapy water and a soft sponge or a quick spit'n'polish with an old rag? I mean just how should you treat your mouse balls. Obviously I recognise that my mice are dragging their balls below them on a hard surface for hours on end but really!! Mice are built to last, they should be able to opertate with dirty balls. If push came to shove I'm sure I could.
How do you treat your mouse balls, what do you do to keep your mouses balls in tip top condition?

I'm stuck in a nut rut here guys, I think I've dropped a bollock with these mouse balls....Any suggestions?

P.S....I tried the vet....he was no help.
P.P.S. Mouse the Admin'......Stop wincing man.

I have a "special friend" who keeps my mouse balls in tip top condition, thank you very much. As for my hardware, as I have previously explained, I have no balls - I'm optical

To get back to your question, yes, i also suffer from dirty balls (somehow this doesn't sound right) :D .

But in my case it's not THAT weird, my ashtray is pretty close to my mousemat, so i need to clean it every day, or else all kind of crap is sticking to my ball.

Charlie, what you need to do with the balls is throw them, toss em, balls to the wall!!

Go optical :D

Mouse 05-30-2003 06:44 PM

If it's optical can you see the differance?

Stormymystic 05-30-2003 06:44 PM

for those who wish to keep their balls clean.... :D
the best way is to use rubbing alcohol on the ball(sounds painful?)
the get a Q-tip and dip it in the alcohol the run it inside and all over the nuts and wheels, scrub the ball with a sponge, and clean themouse pas once in a while :D alcohol works great but you still need to clean or replace your pad every 2 months due to dirt build up
or do like me and Mouse did go optical

No way I'd waste good alcohol (nor bad for that matter) on a mouses dirty balls. I'd rather lick em clean.....waste alcohol...good God woman!!! ;)
