Matching religion to your beliefs
http://beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html I found the Belief –O-Matic quiz on Beliefnet and thought it incredibly interesting. My top ten results: 1. Neo-Pagan (100%) 2. I'm a Neo-Reformist Unitarian Swedenborg and it listed me as Baha'i. What's goin' on there?

hate to be the resident naysayer, but this seems to be another one of those innacurate-yet-self-indulgently-flattering internet tests. I won't list what they were, but the results and religious definitions I recieved were way off considering the answers and priorities I gave. Not to mention that fact that the suggestions of organized religion the test gave me made me feel spiritually ill ;)
|
I don't like this test either.
The questions are formed so you can easily guess where they will lead to. What especially bothers me as an agnostic is that basically agnosticism and atheism are considered equal in the questioning here. Also the questions often disagree with themselves if you look at them from an agnostic viewpoint: "Humankind is "saved" through human effort rather than through religious or spiritual means." Is a stupid expression because religion IS a human effort scientifically speaking. |
1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Neo-Pagan (85%) 3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (84%) 4. Liberal Quakers (81%) 5. Theravada Buddhism (72%) i'm against organised religeon for myself. all these are way too organised for me. kinda funny where it fit me though. i thought neo-pagan would be higher though. |
