Which do you think is better D&D 2nd edition, 2.5, or 3rd edition, with all additional rulesets and extensions(Tome of Magic etc.)?

3ed Edition Rules.

U r fast

I also like 3rd edition better, but some things are left out. Like weapon speeds. Why should use a dagger if i can use a hand-and-a-half sword?

What can i say? I sprint veeery fast.

I prefer 3rd because I like the AC thing and no THAC0 crap. plus it is easier to multiclass.

I like 3rd ed because if I am a Necromancer i don't need to multiclass to fighter to use short swords, crossbows etc. The spell failure percentage is a nice compensation and a wellcome change unlike the total unusefullness of armors, and such. And i like the spells(Banshees Wail Rocks!!! -Tome of Magic for all editions).
|
And i hate not being able to wear 2 rings of protection, a ring and a cloak if they both have AC bonus. And i hate multi and dual classing rules, they're hideous. I like the racial differences and level penalties. No maximum level, so humans stop being the dominant PC race.

If I remember correctly 2 ring of protection don't stack isn't it? yeah, that's bad.
|
3rd edition is more diverse. I am finally able to be a Drow Necromancer Using the Hell Bolter and backed up by a short sword of flame. Many races, such as the Drow, are more detailed, have more powers which distinct them from other races. And i like the prestige classes and class details, although i think sorcerers are just too strong compared to non-specialist wizards.
