Quote by Great cricket Aussie playa David Hooks: "As a teammate and an opponent that i have made more freinds that enemies".
Last Sunday David Hooks was beaten up by a bouncer just as he was walkin to his car. He ended up passing away in hospital in Melbourne on Tuesday.

It was a sad event alright. The guy was a sporting legend. And what a way to go, hit from behind by a night club bouncer who was up on a charge of assult from a incedent at the same club last month.

Yea too right. He is really gonna be missed. :(

actually... in the news (im following it a little) is that he and his team mates was celebrating with a good victory and got kinda drunk in the process. Things were getting out of control and a rumble started. In the process, David was hit in the head but the one that killed him was when he landed on the floor (which they heard a loud crack).. well thats what i read from the newspaper anyway

G'day Harks

I think a few words had been said but the players and hooks where outside the club walking away and IIRC they where 70 metres away when this "bouncer" ran up behind hooks and king hit him from behind. He hit his head on the floor which did the most damage.

Well what ever happened it still is a great loss.

This was sad indeed. I remember him hitting Tony Grieg for 5 4's in one over in the Centenery Test.

(I do think that out of respect for David Hookes we should spell his name correctly.)

It's very sad...what a senseless loss of life. What kind of world are we living in where a bloke can't even go out to have a drink without getting smashed?

As for what really happened, we'll all have to wait till the trial starts, because till then nobody's going to be saying anything. One thing's for sure, Milicevic (the bouncer who hit him) is going to have a hell of a hard time at trial, with all the publicity this has attracted.
