how can i beat two unmberhulks and four mind flayers i have 1 circlet left and if i turn into a slayer all my party members leave. im a mage at level 12 anything i can do?

which other party members do you have? You can kill the umberhulks with cloudkill (if your game = bugged you do some damage to the mindflayers as well) and I think that using the death spell works too.
Start weakening the mindflayers with ranged weapons and then attack with your (hasted) characters who have the highest INT score, mind flayers drain 4 points of INT with each hit (don't use Minsc with his 9 INT as first tank). Summoning monsters helps but they don't do much damage before they die except for skeleton warriors (animate undead with a lvl 15+ character, maybe you have a higher level cleric). If you still can't kill them try putting the difficulry level lower because your a bit low level for the Underdark. BTW being lvl 12 in the Underdark is very hard! Try to do a couple more subquests before going to Brynlaw, most quests have no time limit even though they say you must do it quick, only the quests with an exact time given have a time limit,(e.g. 1 day, 1 hour etc) the next time you play (around lvl 14/15 is good (if you play for the first time?)). SPOILER * * * * * * * * * * * EDIT: If you have a saved game from before entering the Illithid lair reload and leave the Underdark via the easy Kuo-Toa lair (if you want to go through Drow City) or you can use the big doors guarded by a party of Drow to go to the surface again and go to chapter 6 so you can do the Athkatla, windspear hills and all the quests (which you haven't done yet) you can do in chapter 2 or 3 quests. Another piece of advice would be make sure you protect your tanks with the fifth level cleric spell chaotic commands this will stop them getting confused by the umberhulks and dominated by the mindflayers.

i crushed the mind flayers by having my main fighter equipped with the greenstone amulet and the shield of harmony, i sent him in along with my paladin who wields carsomyr and had no problems.

Try fireball, Sunfire... etc. Those work... I think...

Ha, maybe because they didn't want a name of a person that they all killed before.

Can u just go to the surface in Chapter5 without doing the Dragon Egg quest? Isn't it impossible? Anyway, if u r a 12 level mage wanting to kill 4 mind flayers and 4 umber hulks, try summoning lots of creature and just sit back at a safe place while the monsters do all the hard work. The Umber Hulks might go for u first regardless of all the summomsed creatures so be ready. After finishing off the Umber Hulks, the Mind flayers should be almost dead, so pick them off with ranged weapons. I killed those 6 creatures with a party of 6 people all on level 12 and less

I need some assistance.
Solfeuin (or any name he is) and Phaere were doing nothing once I defeated the Umber Hulks and Mind Flayers. I clicked on him: - Solfeuin tells he doen't have any time to chitchat with idle chatters. - Phaere - has nothing to speak to you. What is goin on? I keep going to the Drow City, The Tavern, anywhere but no big deal. |
