what spells are there to counter confuse? specifically are there spells that will keep the entire party safe?

no spells to keep the entire party safe but a fifth level priest spell, chaotic commands, renders you immune to confuse and quit a few other state conditions.

To combat confuse spells and charm spells, just have a cleric cast dispel magic on confused party members. 99% of the time, the enchantment will go away. There are also a variety of items which offer protection against confusion.

Items that protect from confusion:
The Equalizer
Lilacor
Shield of Harmony
Potions of Clarity
Aeger's Hide +3 (Leather armor from Adventurer's Mart)
Greenstone Amulets (Use charges, but can get from Mordy's Swords if you cast Symbol, Death at one)

Getting amulaets from mordakainens swords is a bug and is fixed in one of the baldurdash fixpacks.
