I was wondering, is it "possible" to play the whole game without using any NPCs??? Coz if it is, then I'm gonna try it!
|
Yes, check the topics about soloing.
|
Its possible. I am currently trying my first solo game with a sorcerer. I think its alot of fun, but if you go with a sorcerer, be sure and plan out what spells you want. Dundee has some good lists for ideas.

What's the advantage of playing BG solo?
|
Your character will level faster, but other than that, its kind of a fun challenge.
|
I think there is no real "advantage" besides the pure fun of trying it ;)
OTOH some quests will never appear as they are triggered by your NPCs, for example Ployer or Anomens sister. |
After a while, when you have played the game countless times, and tried virtually all types of party combinations and alignments, you reach a stage where the challenge seems lacking.
You bump the difficulty to Insane, but it is still too easy. So you try the next step, soloing. Note: Soloing is not for the faint of hearted and first-timers. Soloists are generally already experts at the game and know the game details inside-out. |
Soloing has become quite popular for the ones who have completed the game some times.
That's fully understandable, though, soloing is very fun and much more challenging. |
Hmm... thanx for the information guys, anyway, do u guys import a old character or make a new one when playing solo?
|
I start from scratch, and strictly play without cheats or NPC help.
