I read that to get a ring of wizardy you have to kill an aprenctice in your sphere.

i did the quest but didnt have anybody inside of it?

am i missing somthing?

You must be a wizard and gain the planar sphere as your stronghold in order to get apprentices.

Maybe they won't show up. I had the stronghold last game but they wouldn't show up, (the game before that one they did show up). I returned a couple of times but they weren't there. If the memory serves they should show up when you enter it for the first time after completing the quest (when you've brought Lavok outside and enter again)

To get the apprentices, your main character must be a Mage or Sorcerer. When you then have done the Planar Sphere-quest, Lavok will give you the Sphere, as your stronghold.
When you have gotten it, a Cowled Wizard appears, named Teos, IIRC, and will give you your apprentices.
These can make the Ring of Wizardry for you, but the apprentices Nala and Larz will die under the making-process. ;)

If memory serves me (which it rarely does) if you're lucky only Larz dies.

I believe you have to send the knights back to thier home plane before the apprentices will show up, but I am not 100% sure.
