Yep, just about everything I download seems to get corrupted. Well just about all the .exe files anyway. I haven't a clue what's causing it. My bro seems to think it could be my anti-virus program. I'm running McAfee firewall and anti-virus. It may be just that as I haven't had any problem recently untill I noticed that McAfee firewall wasn't active. I recently set the firewall to activate on startup. If it's not that then I have no clue what it could be.

Well, that's just my theory. If anyone can confirm or disprove that I'd be very thankful.

Well all I can think of is to run scandisk and check for corrupt sectors.

That could be the issue, Willow. Last night I decided to test my brothers theory. I shut down McAfee and tried another download. Same issue, less than 2 seconds into the install got a corrupt source file error.

So I ran scandisk with all the options turned on and it said it replaced 2 "bad clusters" I'm guessing they could have been the problem.

The bad news about that is that when you've started to get bad sectors on your hard drive you are bound to get more, until finally the drive dies. You probably should start to save up some money for a new hard drive, as well as backing up important documents, saved games etc. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well, according to the scandisk it replaced the bad sectors. I tried downloading again with the same results. Source file corrupted. So I'm officially ticked off.

Well scan disk usually keeps Windows from writing in the corrupt sectors. However, you will probably find more corrupt sectors every day... :(

Bugger, and this Hard drive is only a year old too. Well, looks like I'm gonna have to go shopping.

Try downloading a scanning tool from the manufacturer. Perhaps you'll find something with that. And howabout the warranty? Definitely check if you still have that. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yep... Scandisk doesn't actually fix any sectors... it just marks them as unavailable. So they won't get used. Capacity goes down, and sooner or later, so does the drive.

Well, at anyrate. in the event that I do get a new Hard drive can anyone suggest a good brand to aim for? Something not Western Digital perhaps?
