Ok, so im doing a project which will include a short stab at alcohol use in movies - action movies in particular.
problem is i cant find enough examples since i dont tend to go to the movies much. Only one i can recall off the top of my head is the last samurai who drank a lot of whiskey and sake.

anyone else recall popular recent action movies featuring an alcoholic beverage?

<font color=pink>Last Samauri did that quite well, making Aubrey a raging alcoholic and having him scream for sake while he was going through the withdrawls.

Another one comes to mind-a new one, The Punisher. Castle is the main chars name I think...anyway, after his family dies, he hits hard on the Wild Turkey whiskey. It's a constant theme in that movie.</font>

Barfly, starring Mickey Rourke. Movie about alcohol from the first minute until the last. ;)

Edit: and more recently.... how about captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean ?

Leaving Las Vegas, with Nicholas Cage? The whole movie is about a guy going to Vegas to drink himself to death.

Salton Sea... although it's more of a drug movie.

Well, if you've read any The Punisher comics, you'd realize that his family wasn't killed, they were tortured, beaten, flogged, and even scourged, and were then run over, and shot many times over. That was no murder, that was a vile killing. Imagine you having a little girl be scourged and run over....then your spouse....then your little son.... They didn't look in the comics at all. That whole "murder" was a real horrorshow bloodbath.
