That comic I made using comic creator is partially based off of a true story. The first panel is true enough, some guy saw me and really exclaimed, "Wow! You're in a wheelchair!"

Unfortunately, this was back at a time I wouldn't have actually said what Wheelchair Dude is saying in the first panel. Everything else in that comic is made up, but I somehow imagine if we were in a bathroom that's how the conversation would have went.

Anyway, the real conversation basically went like this:

Oh my God! You're so brave to live life in a wheelchair! I wish I was as brave as you! I'm so lucky that I can walk! It's so cool that I can do things that you can't, and I really think people should take an example from you and not take for granted everything that we're blessed with and you're not!

This really happened.

By the way, I'd like to mock myself for not ripping the guy a new one.

That sounds almost exactly like a Something Positive strip...

don't you wish you could have a remote control with all mute buttons on it jerr? some people never know when to take being greatful to the being quite level but I like the comics, and am impressed, might need to look into the comic thing sometime

edit} to answer your question, probably my stupidest offline encounter would have to be the first time I met my close friend, we met through my husband, she worked for him, when we started talking, we were doing fine, until I mentioned that I was deaf, yeah alot of people are startled by that one, I can talk like a "normal" person, and can read lips, and hear with the help of a hearing aid, but most people never notice until I mention it, anyway, it basicly shocked her so bad, that her and her husband left soon after, how did we become friend anyway? she got over it, found out I was not a freak

Conversation with my mum on the phone a few weeks back. She was having a random rant, and the dialogue went something like this:

"God, I hate smart-allecs..."

"Why do you hate smart Alex? What has my intelligence ever done to you?"

"No, no! Not smart Alex, I meant allecs, you know, a-l-l-e-c-s..."

"Oh, okay, sorry mum, go on..."

I feel really stupid sometimes. Or maybe I am just stupid.

Yea, but he wasn't talking slow.

EDIT: Strike that! I thought the link was to the red-headed woman one before that particular comic.

It's very similiar, except for the date aspect. Rest assured if a guy did that to me on a date, they'd be searching for his body all the way to the year 3981.

I should have related the more stupid one where one of my sister's friends tried scoring points with her (Because he thinks she's in love with him and he wants to date her) by saying almost exactly what I detailed in the original post. He gave tons of examples of what he could do and I couldn't do, rollercoasters being one.

We left right away. He wouldn't be much of a problem if he weren't the brother of one of my friends...

Although I did have to supress laughter when his brother was behind him slapping his hand against his forehead and mouthing "What an idiot!" at him from behind.

A mute button could be fun...

Hehe! That's more of a slip.

Well, to be fair, sometimes I wish I could make peoples' heads explode if I hated them enough, or willing lightning to strike people. Sadly, I haven't perfected either technique yet. Rest assured, when you do, I'm sure you'll read about it in the news.

Edit- When I do, not you. A slip.
