Typical of all game companies now and always including Blizzard they offer a Free disk with a two week Free Trial. They say load the disk and put in your credit Card imformation in order to activate your free 14 day account yet.

Sorry But I don't give My credit cards to any on line company for any reason. If I want to open an account on line I use temp Limited amount credit cards or pay pal.

But I'm not going to buy a temp card so Blizard will activate their free trial. Its just another sham like every low rent game company on the net. Which goes to show me that there game isn't good enough to stand alone they have to call sometihing free yet want your credit card number and your imformation so that 1 sec after the 14 day trial if you haven't figured out how to cancle the trial they hit you with a full charge bill. So All of you that play WoW cane have it. I see the people that make it as theives and liers and I will never spend one penny on any product with Blizzards name on it again.

I see free as just that free then if I feel it's worth spending money to continue playing I'll buy the game and spend what ever it costs to keep playing but to scam people because acording to game spy Blizzards on line comunity has dropped 41% in the past two months tells me their product sucks and that their desperate to get peoples money at any cost!! NO Thanks. Blizzard can go broke for all I care. I'm sick and tired of game companies offering a trial for free then asking for your credit card imformation if the product was really that good they wouldn't be so desperate to grab you money.

-_-

If anything doesn't make perfect sense to you when creating an account, the game probably sucks. Good point. (because the ones dealing with the account management are probably the ones that designed and programmed the game, at least in such a small company as Blizzard)

I <3 Blizzy.

a Lie is a lie and that is that and desperate people tend to play with words to intrap other people free trial and give us your credit card imformation reminds me of military intellagence. Just more bull.

Nearly every MMO has been doing that. I know EQ did,WoW and several others. I do know CoH and EVE do not ask for credit card info when registering a trial account.

Are you talking about the 30 day free with game or the guest pass?

How can they be lying if they told you from the front that you would need to enter your credit card number? How are they stealing if they are not charging you anything?

WoW now has 3.5 million subscribers, and they are adding new server every months or so, they have 100 US server now...

You do love making uninformed judgements don't you? This remind me of your other thread where you said Dungeon Siege 2 was crap, wrote them a 7 pages flame letter and suggested the devs should all be killed just because you had trouble connecting to the online beta server and died at the beginning, where you apparently quit...

I was arrested yesterday whilst trying to pick up my copy of Guild Wars in Walmart. Despite the countless advertisements I've seen for this game online, on tv and in computer magazines, the security guard insisted that it is in fact "not a free game" and that when the designers claim to that they will "never charge you" they meant something totally different (of which I am still trying to understand).

I was furious and let everyone in the store know it as I was dragged off to be booked. "WTF is dis!" I yelled, "Dis BS crap lies and scamz, you suxors Guild Wars!". Never again will I believe anything I read about a game. My world has come crashing down. My lack of comprehension confuses and infuriates me!

Point? ;)

If it's free why would they want your credit card number?

Many games do this. I suspect it's to prevent people from just creating accounts to hack or exploit, or maybe make spambots. Every free account ask for a credit card, so if you do something stupid it can be tracked, or your card can be banned from the billing department.

Thinking about Diablo 2 and all it's spambots, I'm happy they do that.

If the person want to hack or create spam bots or scams. Wouldn't it be applicable to use fake credit card number or use someone else's number? Why risk use you own number?
