I'm talking about the toolbar below the MSN toolbar. I don't know how I got it, but it added hundreds of false favorites, reacts to the content on the page you are looking at as you can see from the searcheables on the page (Memnoch among others).

Just running Spybot S&D. It lists it as CoolWWWSearch.SmallM with more than a hundred entries.

I have had it. I got it when I downloaded something or other, don't remember. Just be thankfull for Spybot, and use the crap out of it. ;)

OK, I need some help getting rid of it. I ran Spybot and it got rid of all of the folders and false favourites it installed, but the toolbar is still there. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?

EDIT: and it also gives me weird popups from time to time.

I started with checking that and there wasn't anything strange. Any other ideas?

LK did Spybot totally get rid of it for you?

dplax 08-29-2004 04:36 PM

Hidden in the toolbar's options I managed to find a disable, which after a few more screens managed to get rid of it.

Is there anything still left? After disabling it and running Spybot?

It is a very discrete spyware, and all I had to do was run SpySweeper (thats what I use) and check the add/remove programs. Hopefully you are rid of it after that.

I'll try running Spysweeper then. Thanks for the help LK!

Thanks for suggesting Spy Sweeper LK! It found loads of stuff what neither Adaware, nor Spybot S&D had found.
