-   -   Hurricane Number FIVE for Florida to hit us Sunday Night (http://www.ironworksforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=91749)

God, I've lived here since 1989, and never has this happened--being hit over and over by hurricanes like this, and in a FIVE WEEK PERIOD!

And it's gonna go over our COUNTY again. 3 of the Hurricanes have gone over our county where we are (Lucky, we had no damage at all) but what they hell are the odds of THAT?! 1 in a billion?!

Anyway, expect power to maybe go out somewhere between Sunday 12PM EST -5GMT through Monday. We lucked out last time and our power didn't even go out, so if we are down, you know the power is out.

If we get anymore, we are leaving Florida. This is crazy. Moving back to Louisville, Ky damnit!

damn man, I think you should leave Florida, never in my life time do I recall so many hurricanes hitting at one time :( be safe and know that we are thinking about you guy

Something is defiantly changing with our weather on this planet.. France having a Tornado, us with this crazy hurricane crap... Ice shelves the size of Rhode Island falling into the Ocean last year...

The Quickening! ;)

yeah, it is getting kinda scary, but on the bright side for us here in Arkansas, we are having cooler weather

Well so many things to blame for this thing, Global warming...the seas getting warmer(naturally apparently)

Guess if next year gets bad we see what happens

SecretMaster 09-25-2004 04:15 PM

Yeah, I've been finding this hurricane season to be a bit odd. I don't think this has ever happened before. Well, it can't get any worse can it?

Is there anything beyoind a hurracaine i meen sure we havent seen it but it doesnt meen it dont exist right?

Arvon 09-25-2004 04:28 PM

Actually it's not totally unheard of, but is somewhat rare. We are not having more storms now than before. There were peak storms in the 50's and 70's.
Global warming ( a farce) wouldn't cause more storms but actually less storms. Think El Nino.

Arvon, can you enlighten me as to why it is a farce? Im really interested actually... ive heard other people say that and id like to know why..... I dont like being in the dark.

I'll go into a couple of things. It would take too much space and time to fully develop the argument.
1. In most cases the climatologist can't even tell you what the weather is going to be next week much thirty years out.
2. We are and have been, in the past few years, in a solar maximum. Mr Sun is doing the heating not you in your Toyota or SUV.
3. These climate changes have been going on for eons, long before man, and will go on long after man.
