I downloaded Spy Sweeper today. So I started the spyware search and after some time my computer freezed. I reapeted it again for four times and it happend every time. My computer freezes only with this anti-spyware program. Anyone has any idea what would be the problem? I have Windows 98.

Could be some spyware that detects you trying to detect it, and so crashes te computer to protect itslef. Similar things have happened before i think.

<span style="color: lightblue">IN my experience, Spy Sweeper doesn't do much anyway that the other programs don't, so long as you don't use the spyware magnets (IE, Outlook, Netscape, most filesharing things). If it hangs your system without fail, it mightn't be worth having it.

windows 98 has always been unstable.. go for xp or 2000 :D

Spysweeper is an excellent program IF you have the version that costs you. If not, get rid of it right away, because it doesn't protect anything.

You might want to try Spybot S&D, it's free and I've never had a problem with it.

I'm already using Spybot, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Avast and AVG, Firefox and Thunderbird. I just wanted to make one defense more against trash.

right now i have 3 firewalls.. norton, zone alarm and win xp .. and while nothing bad has happened.. im worried about conflicts and stuff

avg and norton scanning have conflicts so they are not working as well. i had to turn one off.
