Many people are saying that the first level Mage spell 'Friends' stacks. Well, my sorceror who has three charisma normally, can get a max of nine charisma, even after multiple castings. Is this a bug, or is it from something I've downloaded?

Hmmm...it stacks just fine for mine; three castings gets me from 9 to 25 quite nicely. I would say it was a bug of some sort...I have have my run in of bugs. once irenicus was casting spells on himself in the very opening movie. I found it hilarious as hell but it didnt effect the game. Unfortunately i dont know how to fix this, but i posted since no one else had yet. best of luck.

friends does stack with the ring of human influence (found in the circus tent)

Game patches come to mind.

If you do not have ToB installed, get the Official SoA Patch first, then get the Baldurdash SoA Fixpack v3.61.

If you do have ToB installed, get the Official ToB Patch first, then get the Baldurdash ToB Fixpack v1.12.

This is odd. Perhaps I'll get the ring and then cast it. 24 CHA is good enough.

Eh? There is nothing wrong with your game. The patches are for Tiresius because Friends is not supposed to stack.

Well.
It seems to stack for many people.

Friends with stack with other different items like the Ring of Human Influence or the Nymph's Cloak. Friends will not stack with another casting of Friends. The Baldurdash patch is supposed to eliminate this bug and other similiar bugs like Doom stacking with Doom, etc... ...
