I have a small question... are the words, pros and cons, in the meaning, good & bad, short for something? or is it just these 2 words... ?

dumb I know but I was asked and am not sure.

from what i know pros and cons are just the good and bad part of somthing, i really don't think there's any full form for them...

I think it is just these two, as "pro" and "con" are actual words in the english dictionary.

Pro- Positive
Con-Negative

If someone is pro-lifer, he is for life, one of the those who are against abortion. If someone is a con... erm... concubine? Con-artist? Concorde? Really can't remember any right now... But anyway, to be con-something is to be agaisnt it, as con is derivative of contra.

they are latin prefixes, like pre and post, used to give the above mentioned meanings to words. Pro and anti are also used, as in hunting.
