This may have been answered before but I couldn't find it... why isn't there a KOTOR/KOTOR 2 forum? I've just started KOTOR 2 and these two games IMHO represent the best solo RPG gaming since BG2. The NWN add-ons made that game MUCH better, but still I think KOTOR1/2 has a tighter storyline and great roleplaying.

Is it the sci-fi thing (Does Ironworks stick to fantasy rpg's)?

or maybe it's the lack of multiplayer?

or possibly the lack of user built expansions?

All I can say is if there's any CRPG'r out there who hasn't tried these games you owe it to yourself to give em a try. I'm not big into sci-fi myself but they are excellent.
