I'm trying to copy a few files onto a disk using dos, but I can't figure out how to do it. I'm trying to copy this folder to my A: drive:

C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA\save\000000001-Quick-Save

So I tried:

C:\ProgramFiles\BlackIsle\BGII-SoA\save\ copy *.000000001-Quick-Save A:\

it didn't give an error, but nothing happened. So I tried this:

copy C:\ProgramFiles\BlackIsle\BGII-SoA\save\000000001-Quick-Save A:\

I hit enter, it pauses for a second or two and then gives the error "Path now found." What should I do to copy this folder to the A: drive using dos. I'm in safe mode if it makes a difference and my computer won't allow me to manually copy files for some reason. The are 7 (maybe 8, I forget) files within that folder that I am trying to copy, and it takes up only 1.1 mb, so there is enough space on a disk for it.

Assuming you're using a version of dos that understands the long file names then you probably want.
cd\ProgramFiles\BlackIsle\BGII-SoA\save\
copy 000000001-Quick-Save A:\

it doesn't work. I tried it in different ways and I got 2 different errors. One said that I had too many parameters while the other said that the file was not found and 0 files were copied.

Try it with the shorter method, meaning
C:\Progra¸1\BlackI¸1\BGII-S¸1\save\ copy *.000000¸1 A:\
The ¸ should be a tilde, I just can't find the symbol right now.

I entered it in and nothing happened. It didn't give an error, it just went down to the next line and nothing happened.

I can't get this to work, and it's really annoying. I find it a waste to re-install my computer and lose my files when I can view them right now.

Have you tried having two windows open, and drag/drop the files from the C: to the A: ? I ran into this once, long time ago, and that's what I did, I opened windows explorer, and went to the files I was looking for, then I opened another window, and set it to A drive, and dragged the files over. That worked for me.

If you open the save folder in Windows Explorer, you should be able to right-click on the file and "Send to" the A: drive.

Depending on your version of DOS, what might be easier:

1) Change to the directory in question
2) Enter: copy * a:
