My father-in-law is in Argentina right now, and I learned something from him that I was not expecting at all. Yesterday, July 19th was called Friendship Day. I had never heard of it before, and was wondering if there be any other country besides Argentina that celebrates it. Here is a portion from his e-mail to me about it.

Quote:

Today is friendship day in Argentina. It is called friendship day because the whole world was watching together when Neil Armstrong took the first step on the moon. It is not a day off of work, but it is a day that is noticed as much as Valentines Day or Halloween in the United States. I think it is interesting that for all the bad press we get around the world, that a country celebrates friendship day as a result of an accomplishment by the United States.

Interesting point in the quote too. Anyway, the vast majority of us are friendly everyday, we don't just do it once a year...
