A little spoilerish info...
I finally installed the ToB patch, and it inclused the bonus merchant Deidre in the Adventure Mart. She's got some great stuff, but it's so freakin expensive. I got most of the stuff I wanted (the cleric amulet, shield of bladuran, robe of vecna, and that thief ring), but now i have exactly 920 gold. I still need to pay Gaelan Baeyle (is that how you spell it), and I still want the balduran armor, so I need a whole lotta cash. I have already done the d'Arnise Keep, and pretty much every quest that has come my way. The only exceptions are going with Korgan to find tht book, and I have waited to go fight the Shade Lord, and I'm not even going to go to Windspear Hills until later in the chapter becasue I don't want to have to end up going back to Athkatla before the quest is over because killing those knights makes Knights of the Heart appear when I return without finishing the quest. One thing, though, I have yet to go see Renal Bloodscalp, so I am assuming there is a little gold with that. Oh, and I refused to turn Valygar over to Tolgerias, but the long list of Journal entries saying 'The Search for Valygar Corthala' have not been removed from the Quests screen, so I know the quest isn't over. So where exactly is the gold? I may have missed a few quests, so if anyone has any ideas at all, give them to me, and I'll let you know if I've done them. I'm a Paladin, so evil quests are out of the question. Oh, and by the way, isn't Deidre that ghost in the opening of Planescape: Torment? (spoilers!)
The Valyger Corathola(sp?) quest is the beginning of the Planar Sphere quest. Find Vally in the Umar Hills. A good quest is the Trademeet animal attacks. Talk to the guy in the City Gates district who is in the middle of the street. He first says "How can I help you? Or maybe you can help me..." You get 10000 gp, two +2 scimtars, a great shield, and other magic weapons. |
Fighting the Shadow Lord shouldn’t be all that difficult for you at this point. I’m not sure just how much treasure you get from this but it is a tidy sum.
You are of course picking up every stray piece of armor, weaponry and such when you win a battle, correct? Battle axes and leather armor may not sell for much but they do add up. Also make sure your reputation is a high as possible so you get nice deals from those merchants. If your truly desperate you might consider turning to a life of crime. I’m talking about pick pocketing for fun and profit. Well at least for fun. The gauntlets of pick pocketing located in the Copper Coronet really help this plan succeed. It may take awhile to pick enough pockets to get the funds you need and there is always that risk of getting caught but if you REALLY want the armor of Balduran then it’s worth it. |
To Jeffio: I already did all the Trademeet quests (even the one where the two noble families were quarrelling), and I've already dold all those items I got. There aren't perhaps anymore quests in the area, are there? I've already foun Valygar, but I don't have that quest as a top priority. After finishing the Cult of the Eyeless off, I'm doin the Shade Lord, then Firkragg, and then whatever quests are left. By the way, what kind of reward do you get from the Fairy Queen for bringing her those stupid acorns from Irenicus's Dryads?
To Silver Bear: I know the Shade Lord wopn't be too difficult, but the whole 'shadows and dark corridors' theme depresses me. It doesn't motivate me to continue like the city or wilderness quests. I'm not picking up 'every' piece of armor, and so on, but I do get every gem or piece of jewelry. And also every piece of plate or full plate mail, and any scroll. My rep is a 19, BTW, and I really want that armor, but being a strictly good party this time around, I don't think I'll steal any. Once, I made the mistake of stealing from Cromwell the Dwarf. So much for his items fom then on. If you can think of anything else (oh yeah, my party is myself, Anomen who has been accepted into the order, Minsc, Jaheira, Yoshimo, and Nalia), let me know. It's becoming ever more apparent that I'll have to dump one of these guy for Valygar, and perhaps Mazzy (at least thru the dungeon), so who do you suggest I give the boot? Oh yeah, and I'll be Dumping Minsc for Keldorn as soon as I find him in the sewers. Thanks. |
I find it kind of hard to believe that you are low on cash. Are you keeping all the weapons that you come accross maybe sell a few off. I had about 171 000 Gp until I lost it all. I won't say In-case it is a spoiler for you. But you should have no problem with cash at this point of the game. Good luck finding some money.

' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' The Renal Bloodscalp / Mae Var quest gets you 10500 gold I think for not much fighting. Between that and the Cult of the Eyeless (7000 gold) you should have more than enough gold to continue the plot. If not, freeing Hendak and the Slaves gets you nearly 4000, Korgan's book can be sold for quite a bit, and you can rescue Haer' Dalis for another 1000 (though it can be a bit tricky). Other than that, selling mid-high level mage scrolls can be quite lucrative once you have looted them from any wizards you kill off. Unfortunatly, helping the dryads only gives you experience and not any gold. Not even a tip for the courier boy http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...ons/icon12.gif Hope this helps. Tim. |

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Be sure to have a decent lockpicker and trap disarmer in your party when you do the Bloodscalp Quest. You won't regret it. And of course, search carefully. Wealth may be found in the unlikeliest of containers. |
Hey, thanks again, but it still doesn't help me.
To Mack: Well, I'm not keeping all of the weapons I find, just the ones I can use... I sell the rest. But I mihgt point out that the only thing that even sparks my interest anymore so far is Balduran's armor. I've gotten everything from Trademeet, the Adventure Mart, and the Coppor Coronet that I even want. I am assuming you lost it all with The Deck of Many Things, or bought something from either Cromwell or Caespenar. Oh, I don't mind being spoiled. Everyone else has already. I'm also just in chapter 2. All of my characters are wearing armor that cost in the neighborhood of 10,000 gp, so there goes 60 grand. They all have really good shields (well, those who can use them), and fairly good weapons. Oh, and I would estimate that I had a good 150,000 gold, but blew it all. Aerie and Korgan also have quite a few good items that I left with them for the time being, so I could always go back to get those if I needed. And I know I'm missing some quests right now, but I'm trying not to clutter up my journal again. Maybe I'll have to. I could always go fight the liches (they seem to be prettty rich, and they're freakin hard too). To Tim: Well, that will give me close to enough for that armor. I'm not at all worried about advancing the plot just yet, because I can do the 'sell absolutely everything possible' routine if it becomes apparent that funds will be limited after all the quests are done. I've already done the slave quest, but I plan on doing the Korgan and Planar Sphere quests before the chapter is over. Of course, I'll be getting the Holy Avenger in this chapter, and I can do some major selling after getting it. I'll have more stuff to sell after Anomen gets another weapon point so I can give him the Flail of Ages. Well, thanks again. |
Remember to drop a friend spell on Ur character who talks with Deidre and DO use the one with the highest stat in char...ex wearing the ring of human influence...a boost of char to about 22-24 is good on the price as it falls...
I´m wondering what kinda armor U bought for ur crew since I never BUY armor but get it by dealing some butt-kicking during the game... I mean red dragon scales are great as armor...go see the dwarf...but I can only wear ONE armor and there aren´t that many great ones... Remember to NOT sell armor the same place all the time....but divide ur sells around the merchants since the price u´ll get will fall as u sell more of the same items... Spawkie |
if you need cash there is always potion of master theivery and then selling merchants your high powered magic weapons, and stealing them back, thats always my favorite.
