I saved a young boys life today waalking home from school. The young lad was in his treehouse, sitting on the branches. I walk 5 metres from underneath him, and i could see something bad happening as he stood up and waved his hand aimlessly behind him to grab a branch, but with no luck, he slipped. I being underneath him at the time, and having my instant reflexes, threw my arms out to catch him. I did manage to catch him, but because i was leaning back, i copped a massive blow from a picket fence on the head, it bled a little, but i was glad he was ok. Next thing i knew, his mum was outside screaming at me to keep my hands off little boys, like i would seriously do that. That boy probably wouldnt of died, but could've broken his legs or somewhat, and i didn't get a thankyou from it. Seems there is no respect for heros now days..

Sometimes a title just hits the right cords. "I'm a hero with no respect" is a good one. Someone should make a song for that. It's ambiguous and sounds cool.
It's a real shame, because no lesson was taught. The mother will continue to neglect supervising her kids and eventually the boy will fall again as he has no clue how close he got to spending 3 months with his leg in cast. EDIT: Profanity! I am so sorry! [ 08-30-2005, 04:42 AM: Message edited by: mad=dog ] |
Ironic. It's a shame that you were insulted instead of credited. If the little brat's got any sense, he'd probably clear that misunderstanding. Either that or learn to avoid that tree about the time you head to/from school...

We had such a misunderstanding once as well. Three boys were pelting rocks at the building of our rowing club, so me and another went outside. Of course they ran away, but we managed to grab one, and the other guy I was with just lifted him up by his shirt, held him against the wall and said "I don't think you'll be throwing rocks again, will you?" The boy was very scared, of course, but then all of the sudden a woman cycling by turns to us and says "Will you leave that boy alone!!"
Lucky for us, the boy immediately explained that he was the one being wrong :D |
Hmph... Sometimes you need to tell people to stuff it, I'm afraid.

Like in that scene in that movie where that weatherman gets stuck in time?

i couldv'e let him drop, but then she wouldv'e yelled at me for not trying to help her son out. That makes things a lot more complicated, but i wouldn't have this big red stain on the back of my head..
And thanks for the ip about making that lyric! I've actualy begun making a song out of it. [ 08-30-2005, 10:23 AM: Message edited by: burnzey boi ] |
