Hmmm, just wondering which you prefer...NOT WHICH IS BETTER, because we all know that ATI is better, and there is plenty of proof out there.

No choice, the computer shop only sell ATI graphic cards. so haven't tested Nvidia graphic cards yet.

ATI and Nvidia are the leading companies that make graphics card chips, they are constantly at war, but it seems that Nvidia is loosing its grip in the market, as ATI now controls 70% of it. But the Nvidia cards are by no means crap, the score difference in most test with the top cards from both companies are often very close, depending on the test.

NVidia all the way. They make linux drivers and it works at least with NWN.

Nvidia...

In my opinion ATI rule totally and utterly.
Manufactureres like Sapphire who make the best cooling solutions, who dont manufacture for NVidea chipsets purely rule. I have a 9800XT, Sapphire editionm, backed up with 1gb of DDR 400. This card rules...

EDIT: Or it did until they bought out those damned X800XT...grrr ill have to buy one now.

ATi is the best VGA builder that ever existed. I mean, nVidia's card makers are leaving nVidia, the rats are leaving the sinking ship. Although nVidia still makes good cards, they are a bit more costly, a tad less powerfull and a whole lot less overclock enduring. And with the introducion of Omega drivers ATi cards suddenly became a whole lot better. nVidia makes it's own drivers for UNIX, but ATi's UNIX drivers are available from other users, not ATi itself. A bit more complicated to find, install and run, but still worth it.
P.S.
Sapphire is god, anyone saying otherwise is off their meds
