Because... I'm curious

Neither,It will be empty in seconds in my presence anyway ;)
|
The glass is filled with (some sort) of liquid, without any emotional ascendency.
|
Half-empty
Although it will probably shatter into pieces anyway. |
There is no glass. It's just an illusion created by our conditioned mind, or somesuch.
|
There exists a form, in the shape of a container, made entirely of glass. Within the shape's inner cavity there is a liquid, H2O more plrecisely. The liquid reaches half way up to the container's total height, whereas the rest is filled with air, mostly nitrogen and oxygen.

... full of what?
|
It kind of depends on whether or not you like what's in the glass, doesn't it?
I think the more important question is, what half of the glass is empty/not full? I'd say the right half, myself. Or perhaps the middle one. [ 01-25-2005, 06:16 PM: Message edited by: Legolas ] |
The glass is too big.

It really depends in the context of what you're saying. "Half empty" could be positive or negative, as could "Half Full". For example, you have an empty glass. It then gets filled halfway to water. You would say, "Oh, now it's only half empty!". The opposite of this could be having a full glass, of which half is drained. "Oh, now it's only half full".
Those who say it is neither or say it doesn't exist are just looking for attention. However, I think Illumina answered this question in the best way possible! Personally, I went for half-empty, as it is the one I most commonly use. I don't belive it has reflections on optimisim or pessimism. |
