Apparently that craphole game I just played (and quit in the last chapter cause it sucked (see my rant in the Misc. Games Forum), Beyond Divinity, came with some lovely shithole program called StarForce.

Anyone know of any information on this thing? And how I can get it off my PC?

Gah, I thought I hated that game before, now...grrrr..

Read all about it here

Did you know that the Sacred Gold edition also uses Starforce protection ?

Ladyzekke 05-08-2006 08:16 PM

No, I never bought Sacred Gold though. I bought the original Sacred when it came out, and have patched it with the Plus since then, and then ordered the Underworld expansion (the UK version) online. So I'm good re that I think.

avoid starforce.. nasty stupid protection that wont even work and just destroy your computer

Doubt they will be around for much longer, their recent "mistakes" have definantly put a fair few nails in their coffin...

Anyone know how to get rid of the Star Force drivers? I have Beyond Divinity loaded on my pc and have been having unexplained XP crashes....so I'm wondering if that's the culprit.

There was a thread about that somewhere, here I believe, but I don't recall. I'll search it up.

Edit: From the link provided above, I found this: http://www.glop.org/starforce/remove.php

Cloudy, use Robert's link. The OnlineSecurity one didn't seem to have the removal tool. On Robert's link, there is a mirror of the removal tool. Just click on it, extract it, then run it (it'll then prompt you to reboot). That's what I did and I reckon it worked.
