I recently aquired a small, fairly insignificant sword (carsomyr) and I want keldorn in my party to use it. Unfortunately I have Viconia in my party (heck, she's the only half decent cleric in the game) and I have heard that these two will clash and try to kill each other. I have also heard that if you have ToB this won't happen. I have ToB Installed but I am still in Chapter three of SoA. is it possible to get Keldorn at this stage of the game without viconia trying to rip his head of and vice versa?

Sorry, I don't think so. There is a mod to stop it, but I don't know where to get it.

If memory serves me well, if your party leader (not necessarily your main character) has a CHA score of 18+, it can negate the enmity between the two.

Does that work when the party leader is using the ring of human influence and/or if you leader IS keldorn himself?

According to memory, yes. I am only 80% sure though.
