The IW Trivia contest keeps rolling along, and there's still time for you to get involved! Laugh at the easy questions... cry at the hard ones... scratch your head trying to figure out how milking goats can be a hobby... it's lots of fun! Plus, any side effects wear off the next day!

I've been asked to bring the categories to your attention again... let me know what category you'd like to see next, and away we go!

My personal feelings.

I'm always up for Sci and Tech, I really wish they make a more difficult version of that topic.

One that are OK:
Hist & Geo
Hobbies
Any level General Knowledge
Famous People

Ones I'd rather avoid:
All the sports ones
Music
70s and 80s (too much about music, and before my time)
UK or Australia trivia (thought the Easy-Int is alright, but the Hard one is just cruel! What did so-and-so score in the second set of a particular cricket match? Ouch)

I'm also not shabby at Bible Trivia, having gone to a Christian school through 11th grade, but I feel like it's not a fair category across the board (then again, I feel that Music is an unfair category for me)

I'm with Olorin about History Geography and Hobbies (keep getting cooking questions there though...).

DO they have a sci-fi cat?
History and Geog sounds good, would that be World or US?

The only ones I never want to do are Baseball (any level) and Aus/UK hard. I think having easier Aus/UK trivia is fair enough given the strong US bias for almost all other categories. I think baseball is really unfair for non-American participants, because while you can pick up various titbits about Australia or the UK or whatever for those categories simply from reading books or movies or something and be able to attempt some of the questions, non-Americans have virtually no opportunity to learn about American baseball teams. It is all guesses for me which I don't find fun.

I'm also not that fond of the 1970s or 1980s, but mostly because they are almost entirely music and American sports oriented. If we want a music category, we'll pick music mix  .

I wouldn't mind movies next. Anyone else have a topic choice suggestion?

ZFR 03-23-2007 05:53 AM

I would suggest History and Geography or Hobbies.

Whatever you choose, time it in such a way so as to have 2 topics before the end of the month so we could have mixed bag at the beginning of the new one. Maybe a "difficult" one and one where many score a 10...

Movies sounds good to me as well

Movies tonight, no problem. I just noticed it's time for a change... General Knowledge has been up for five days now. I'll do movies for four days, and then history for the rest of the month.

Stay tuned....
