I'm fairly sure practically no one is aware of this, but on the ninth of of may we celebrate the Schuman Declaration, which meant the birth of the predecessor of the European Union. For some, this is reason enough to pop open a bottle of champagne. While others sacrifice goats and pray to their dark gods that it's all going to end this year.
