Okay, everybody--who made it?

Yay I get to make the first post-transition thread in the BG2 forum!

So, who's here? I've been noticing the amount of posts here slowly trickling away over the recent months, and I'd have to see a site jump kill the forum completely. So I thought, as one of Ironworks's most crotchety old non-moderating gurus, I should officiate the roll call to see who's followed over to the new host.

As a way of generating interest, I shall announce that I myself shall be taking up modding. Over the next few months, I shall be making some all-new kits, and reworking some old ones, in order to keep the game interesting and balanced (well, balanced according to my views, at any rate, feel free to disagree) for characters of all stripes. Have you ever wanted a Paladin who specializes in ranged combat? A Druid whose connection with Mother Earth is so strong that they ignore plants & animals to focus on the earth itself? How about a Beast Master that doesn't suck? These and more. All coming to you free of charge, courtesy of my Copious Free Time(tm). All that's required of you is your feedback, as well as your patience. Oh, yeah. Patience.

And this thread will also serve as the litmus post for whether or not the system kept track of how many posts we all had!

hello - it has been very quiet eh?

not sure about a ranged paladin but your druid suggestion made me wonder if it was possible to code an evil-ish druid-ish thing that needs to damage nature to draw power

i then rapidly thought it would be cool for all the cute furry creatures to drop saleable pelts

and then i thought you could combine the mecahanics of these ideas and have cromwell/cespenar able to combine lots of pelts into some item like the BG1 tomes that give you some from of permanent benefit

aaanyway :)

Is a beast master that doesn't suck even possible?

Present. This seems as good a spot as any to ask my question. I recall hearing about a mod that enables the use of BG2 classes and kits in BG1. Do i recall correctly? If so, what's it called?

I'm still here, sometimes.

edit: Oh, and Sever, I believe there are two mods that convert BG1 into the BG2 engine. BGT and BGTutu, both found from the Infinity Engine Modlist. I have tried neither.
