where is this deathsword that has (90+)? i wonder which weapon is this sword fit under? 2 handed? 1 hand? scimitar??? there are four dragons to be fought in the game (if you choose to) right? am i missing any of them? it's possible to go solo throughout the rest of the game without needing any companions (not even Imoen!) although in the end, it's kinda hard to fight the bad dude from baldurgate one, he has around 587 HPs. And how would you face the dragon in the elven city or Irenicus in the end? i donno, i turned into a slayer and after that i use a scrimitar 5+ to kill them (not without dying a dozen times). it would probally be easier if i could find this deathsword i bet.

I think the sword you're talking about is the vorpal blade (even though it's not necessarily the best sword.) You get the blade off of Saemon in Chapter 4, and the hilt off a Githyanki in Chapter 6.

You've got all of them, there is only 4.

Soloing isn't as difficult as it sounds, if you use items and your characters special powers properly.

The sword that you are talking about is a sword that is used by Aran I think that is his name. Anyways he is the guy that runs the theifs guild. He uses this sword on you which kills you in one hit. Because you can not kill him because this will put an end to the plot.
You can cheat this sword in but where would be the fun in playing then.
And yes you can go solo through the game.

I believe that you (Mack) are talking about Arkanis Gath, the assassin guy that defends the Shadow Thieves. To prevent a game from "hanging" (i.e. you lose both ways of getting into Spellhold by siding w/ the Thieves and then kill Aran), he spawns if you attack the Shadow Thieves outside of the plot. This means that you can, with Renal's permission, still carry through with the Mae'var quest. However, if you attack Mae'var too early, Arkanis should spawn and cause problems for you. If you side with Bodhi, he will be defending the cargo shipment that you have to get for your first quest. He doesn't use that one hit kill sword, however.
If you side with Aran, when you go and beat up on Bodhi in chapter 6, you can talk with Aran and get him to send assassins to help. Arkanis is one of them. He will stay with you following the fight and even go downstairs and disarm a trap for you. I'm not sure what happens if he survives the fight against Bodhi, as he always gets completely owned in it for me. (Hey, it's not my fault he's a thief and he goes and tangles with like 8 Vampires!)

A note on defeating Arkanis: I've heard it can be done by using Protection from Magical Weapons (I think?) and then morphing a Mind Flayer or something weird like that. Never really felt like putting in the effort just to screw up my game, personally. I imagine Dundee or someone else like that could give you some pointers on killing Arkanis "dishonestly" if it should so please you =P

Vorpal blade is 2-handed sword +4. There is no +90 swords AFAIK. Aran Linvail wields Short Sword +2.

Well you tell me then if you side with Aran and you try to fight him before you have killed Bohdi he is weilding a +2 sword, then why does he kill you with one hit????

Only after bohdi is dead do you ever see that +2 sword.

arkanis sword, when he spawns to kill you in one hit, has a few special abilities. IIRC, it was something like +20 THAC0, +20 AC-bonus, the range of a longbow, +1000 fire damage, +1000 cold damage , +1000 acid damage, +1000 magic damage, 10 attacks per round.

This sword exists and can ce CLUAConsoled into the game, code Killsw01 ( not 100% sure anymore on that, long time ago).
Though i do still find it weird that Arkanis kills you while doing 1 damage, and not the 5000-something the killsword does. MAybe the killsword and Arkanis'sword arent the same after all ?
