I have problems with about:blank as well, and it has caused me to just quit searching. Spybot and Adaware together don't get it -- though I haven't updated Spybot recently (anyone got a link for the new version??).
Spysweeper catches it changing my homepage -- which would be great, but it changes once every 5 or 10 minutes, even once I log off, which annoys the pee-water out of me.
Help on this issue is GREATLY appreciated.
