1. Well, one of the monk's strongest features is that he does not have to use weapons. He is a better warrior unarmed, but as his fists "levels up" slowly when it comes to enchantment, you should try to find some +2 or +3 weapons to use as a secondary weapon.

2. No catch. He isn't too proficient with it, though.

3. No, as long as your strength is currently 19, the base shouldn't matter.

4. AFAIK, you should be undetectable with those two factors in play.
