As for the new games/genre idea....well, this site 'as it is' seems to take up a lot of Z's time. I know it takes up too much of his money.

The best solution I've found is MMORPGs. I've played a NWN server for the last 4 years and that is still where spend all of my gaming time (except for short stints on mousebreaker or addicting games when I want some arcade action).
I still believe BGII is one of the best games every made. LOTS of replay potential and enough different quests, NPCs and potential parties to keep me occupied for a long time. I never did explore ALL of the character and party builds I wanted to do.
As for MMORPGs, the key is obviously finding a good server with active DM/QM interaction. The one I play has seen several ups and downs (including two extended stretches where it was shut down completely). But it has everything a classic RPGer could want; characters start at level 1 with minimal gear and gold, several races available (including a few customized subraces), literally unlimited potential for character builds (the server used to be extremely challenging, leading to players designing uber builds. The challenge level has been adjusted so literally any class or build can find success), lots of interaction, help and advice from veteran players and a decent player base so it's always easy to find a party. There are also numerous static quests on the server as well as semi-regular quests run by the QM team.
Characters also have permanent impact on the server. One of my characters owns a store and most of the town mayors are also PCs.
So that is what I spend my time on. I've thought about re-loading BGI&II on my PC, but with online classes, substitute work and online gaming, I really don't have much time for adding anything else right now.
