'Romancing Characters' : This is where the PC and an NPC [Hit ctrl + a to read]
For males: Jaheira, Aerie, Viconia, For Females: Anomen develop a relationship which goes beyond mere friendship. One of the biggest gripes a lot of people have about the relationships is that they frequently seem to be like therapy for the NPCs - They just tell you about their problems. Nonetheless it's a game, and it can be a nice extra angle to the game.
'Best class' : There is really no best class. One of my funnest Characters was a Gnomish Fighter/Mage specializing in Quarterstaves. Really all characters can be extraordinarily powerful if played correctly. I would recommend a Fighter as the most powerful for someone who did not have a good grasp of AD&D rules, but on the other hand a Sorcerer is probably more powerful for someone who knows the rules well (and the cheese!).
Fighter/Mage weapons : Fighter/Mages can use all weapons a fighter would be able to use, in addition to the Only (To my knowledge) mage only weapon [Hit ctrl + a to read]
