I think the Adventures of Elmonster written by K. Dorner (of Baldurdash fame) is a good example of a gaming write-up. It's a long, first-person narrative that not only describes the battle tactics of a solo mage but roleplaying decisions as well. All of this is told through Elmonster's point of view. It's neat to read what quests he did, and what quests he didn't do, and how he justified his decisions. He plays his alignment beautifully, IMO.

Since this is a Dundee Slaytern production (tm), we are assured quality decisions, so I won't say anything more on content.
