I just started using a wild mage for the first time. a few times as Ive cast a spell Ive gotten a message "your casting level has dropped x levels" or something. Are these levels permanent or how long does the drop last? can someone explain this to me please? there's nothing in the character info screen that gives a tally of lost casting levels, or even mentions it.
I know that wild mages get surges sometimes, but how drastic are these effects?
