I took the link in your post and checked.
This band's earliest album/single was put out in 1985. The song they're posting was first performed in the 70's by a band called America. I'm not sure if this "Dewey" was part of that band, or just one of the many writers that usually don't get enough credit for their work, but I'm certain of the original performers. Is there a list of them somewhere?
