ARGH. I was hoping to play BG1 chapters 1-4 as a fighter, dual-class to mage before chapter 5 to reap the roleplay-based experience in Baldur's Gate (and level up quicker), and take the wild mage kit when I imported my character into BG2 Soa/ToB. Now it seems I cannot do this!
Have fun!
I hope I do too...I'm still waiting for BG2 to arrive but I'm finishing up a couple parties so I'll have some high level characters to start the game with: a female chaotic good half-elven cleric/ranger, a male lawful evil gnome illusionist/thief, a female human paladin, a male chaotic neutral bard, and a gender-swapping chaotic evil human fighter (who just
loves the genderbending girdle...).
PS: You get to keep your dualclass from BG1( if any), but it is better to dualclass in BG2.
In the case of the wild mage, I was dualing just for the purpose of proficiency stars and roleplay aspect. Why is dualclassing in BG2 better?
And have fun with your BG1 game.
