a) I'm sure that a few have. But not me. Seems pretty silly/insane to try to take on goblins with ~100-200 hp with even a full party of 6 level 1 characters.
b) I've heard that it can be done.
c) Sorry, no suggestions.
d) If you mangage to survive, you should level up monstrously fast for a while. I don't know from experience, but by the time you clear the docks I think that you could easily be level 4-5 or more.
