I found this first post of Mr. Baggin's, and I decoded to answer his questions. Forgive the lack of quotes, haven't got the hang of 'em yet.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let us think for a moment on the topic of Kobolds. Sure they are pathetic enemies who are simple to kill. (I AGREE)Sure they rarely if ever have any booty worth taking and sure they are everywhere.(YES, THEY ARE) But why should we hate the Kobold? (BECAUSE THEY ARE ANNOYING)Of course they are always bad guys because who among you would hire a 3 foot tall rat boy who speaks in growls and yips to work in your store or tavern? (ONLY A LOONY, BET MR. B WOULDN'T)How many of you have asked the Kobold "WHY" he feels that he must shoot arrows of fire at you at every opportunity? (I TRIED... I DIDN'T UNDRSTAND THE ANSWER)Of course not...Why? because almost as a whole the Sword Coast is racially prejudiced against our short annoying foul smelling friends.(YOU SAID IT, NOT ME: SHORT ANNOYING, FOUL) Do not they have families to feed? (NO)Are there not young Kobolds in search of a strong male role model? (NO)Take away the Sewer King of Baldur's Gate and they are few and far between. So of course they hire themselves out to the thugs of the Sword Coast, but that is not because they are bad, but because good doesn't give them a chance. (GOOD DOES NOT HIRE ITSELF AS THUGS: THEY MUST BE BAD)So I stand on my soapbox now(YOU HAVE A SOAPBOX?????!?) and cry for reform. Talk to a Kobold...(IT DOESN'T IN ANY WAY I KNOW)Larry wasn't that bad remember(OKAY, SO MAYBE NOT)...Sponsor a local "Take a Kobold to work day".(I DON'T WORK) We must reach out to our small dog/rat type brethern and share this land that we call the Sword Coast.(WHY) So in closing I say to you adventurers all, "Why become a hero SLAYING Kobolds when you can be a hero TO a Kobold?"(BECAUSE WE DON'T WANT TO, SIMPLE)
