You will need to get into that room to complete the game, because u will need a staff found there.
To get into that room You will need to place a statue (found in the proving grounds near where u enter the temple) in the central alcove, and the four monkey statues in the other alcoves. The monkey statues =>2 can be found in chests 1 is on a monkey released when u flick a switch, and the other is found behind 1 of 6 doors which can be opened by switches.
