I got hooked because:
1) I was desperately waiting for Wizardry 8
2) W&W *WAS* Wizardry 8 (in essence, anyway)
3) It was by DWB (who, after Wiz 5, 6, 7 can suck me in for anything!)
4) The gameplay and humor reminded me so much of Wizardry 7 (my all-time favorite) that I fell for it like a brick
5) I love any game that can make me feel that I'm really *THERE* - and this one did!
