1/ Hire the henchman in question

2/ Talk to him. Ask him to tell you his story. You have to do this three times and you have to be of high enough level in order to get all the 3 parts of their story.

3/ When they tell you the third part, they will tell you about the object they are missing and you can give it to them via a dialogue choice.
