Well, so far, I am in chapter 11 or something in the 1st book of the Shadow of the Avatar Trilogy.
Mystra has given her essence to Elminster for safe-keeping while she is a mortal. This has taken away Elminster's ability to use magic. Of course, he has alot of enemies that would take advantage of the opportunity, right ??
You'll be surprised to see just how good Elminster is at taking up for himself without magic!!!
Even though the Harpers have been assigned to guard him, he goes running around, attacking an evil aligned castle by himself, and leaves his "guards" behind!! Truelly, this is an exciting novel...
