Hi,
The only ways to identify are...
- right click: artifacts skill
- identify scrolls: got to get to arnika for these
- identify spell: can be bought/pped in Arnika
Before you get to Arnika the only way is to get your artifacts skill up... a bishop has +25%, a bard can invest level-up pts.
Personally, I use my bishop in the beginning... he's mixing potions (making money) + identifies them by right clicking.
Just right click everything you find.
If you found some items and you can't identify them (longsword?), put it in your party inventory and get to a merchant (Burz being the first one in the game)... you will see a prize for it... if you found three swords and 2 are worth about 89 gr and one 360gr, that one has something special... you still wont know what, but equip this one and you'll see the effect when striking.
Remember, you don't have to now what it is to use it, and to get skill raises with it.
For example... if you find a red potion in the beginning... 90% chance it being a cherry bomb.
Or... just save the game, try the potions/powders so you know what it does, then restore the game.
Hope this helps a little, enjoy the game.
Signed,
one sick Psycho
