They are linear, part of a trilogy, BG, BGII, and TOB to be out this summer. Simply put, they are the best RPG games I've everplayed. Money well spent. Hours of enjoyment. Check out the TeamBG website, the have lots of tools etc to enhance these infinity engine games.
