with the duelled situation, i'm not sure if your previous class still makes you eligible for its corresponding stronghold.
in my opinion, the d'arnise keep is the one worth getting (provided that you can.) there are many more subquests having to do with it (in my opinion) and i think they could have made a way better mage stronghold than the planar sphere (but then again, i'm a huge mage afficionado from the pen and paper days.)
