Grunting nosily as they moved towards the bank of the island the large group of hobgoblins positioned themselves in cover, bows drawn taught and pointed at the intended approach of the adventures. Standing in the shade of a small cloud that floated high above them, blocking out the sunlight the smaller of the two began to speak.
"We first?” the voice was very soft; seeming to be barely audible it was obviously that of a young girl.
"Yes... after they have chewed through the cannon fodder.” the second voice was slightly louder and more assertive, still quite is recognisable of that of a young boy.
"Excited?"
"Sure... I still don't see why we don't all attack at once."
"I think master wants to test them, plus he must want enough of them to make it through so that he has some fun of his own. Still we have nothing to worry about, death holds no fear for us. Oh, brother can you help me I think I’ve still got some of that wizard stuck in my fangs."

"Sixty four bottles of ale on the wall, sixty four bottles of ale. If one of those bottles was to topple they'd be sixty three bottles of ale on the wall." The hulking android chirped as the three dour looking warriors continued traipsing across the blasted landscape.
"Kill me now.” came the simple mental command issued to the anti-paladin who was currently trying to rearrange his helmet to block out the sound.
"If I killed you", replied the black knight telepathically, " I would lose the only pleasurable thing about this, the fact that your hearing is even more sensitive than mine."
The mind flayer let out a short hiss of protest before giving up and instead holding it's arms to block its ears.
The android was just about to round his sixty second bottles when all three of the fighters fell silent, the shape of the tower becoming faintly visible in the distance.
"Wow.” was all the anti-paladin could muster as he gazed at the imposing shape of the tower and the bolts of magical lighting that raged around it.
"Look at the clouds,” said the android, pointing his arm (currently in the shape of an ice pick) at the storm that raged over the tower, a circle of dark clouds rotating around a point at the centre of the tower.
There was a moment’s pause as the three, as one, noticed what was missing from the scene.
"Er...” the anti-paladin's visor twisting into a confused frown, "where's the door?"
